Is this the same story as A Curse of Blood and Wolves?
Not quite, while this story features some of the same characters and many of the same plot lines, this story has been rewritten and edited to reflect the small-town charm Laurie Gilmore readers love. I wrote this story before The Pumpkin Spice Café really took off so I wanted to take the feedback you’ve all given me and embrace all the things you love about Dream Harbor and make this book even better. It’s not often you get the chance to re-edit a book that’s previously been published and I feel lucky to have the opportunity to do so.
If I’ve read A Curse of Blood and Wolves already, do I need to read this?
Not if you don’t want to! All the work that’s been done on this book is to enhance and develop the original story and introduce the quirky small town of Maple Hollow, so there’s plenty of newness for you to love but if you want to skip book one and go straight to book two you can.
Why did you decide to publish this under Laurie Gilmore?
My writing is very similar – I am the same person – and it’s been wonderful to see readers at events make the link between Laurie Gilmore and Melissa McTernan, so my publishers and I wanted to give even more readers the best chance of finding and falling in love with this series. While it’s not Dream Harbor, and has a little more paranormal to it, I hope that new and existing readers will love Ruby and Rafe as much as we do.
What will happen to A Curse of Blood and Wolves?
Sadly, you won’t be able to purchase A Curse of Blood and Wolves anymore from retailers. If you’re lucky enough to already own a copy, treasure it dearly, and if not, you can pre-order the paperback, ebook and audio for the new series on all retailer sites.
If I bought ACOBAW on Kindle, will I lose access to it?
Yes, unfortunately this will disappear from your devices. It’s not something my publisher is able to control.
Are you doing any more Melissa McTernan books?
Not at the moment, my focus is on Laurie Gilmore. You’ve taken her to your hearts and fallen in love with Dream Harbor, so I hope you enjoy reading my Maple Hollow series just as much.
How many books will be in the Maple Hollow series?
There are three books in this series, each book follows a different brother but they can all be read as standalones. The first two books will publish in September and October 2026 and the final book will release in Spring 2027.
Will the spice level change in Big Bad Wolf?
No, Iwant to keep the essence of the original story and the slow burn relationship between Ruby and Rafe so the spice level will stay the same. You’ll be getting my signature Laurie Gilmore sweet but spicy romance (maybe even a bit spicier than Dream Harbor).
